Metallica - Hardwired... To Self-Destruct: Ranking Every Song From Worst To Best
2. Halo On Fire
This one's sure to earn a lot of comparisons to Unforgiven, but it also stands tall on its own, touting an excellent melody and diverse vocals which help it sustain over more than eight minutes, making it the longest track on the album.
It sure as Hell brings disc one to a mind-blowing conclusion, particularly the final two minutes, which could very well be among the best material the band has written in decades, if not ever. If it doesn't inspire you to headbang, absolutely nothing will.
It's a shame the music video isn't better given how awesome the song is, though.
