One Direction vs The Wanted: Which Group Will Rule 2013?

1d-thewanted One Direction and The Wanted have made it fairly obvious that they're not the best of friends - but when they're competing for the same fans, a feud is totally expected. Here we look at the possible reasons why 2013 will be a good year for both The Wanted and One Direction.

One Direction:

1. Live Performances

one direction live Nothing excites fans more than getting a chance to see their favourite band live. This year, Directioners from over 20 countries spread over four continents will get to see One Direction in the flesh as the boys embark on their first official world tour. They will travel around the UK first, visiting cities such as Cardiff, Belfast and Glasgow as well as performing a whopping 9 sold out shows at London's prestigious O2 Arena. The boys will then move onto Europe through to North America and Australia before heading to Japan in November for two final shows at the Makuhari Messe in Tokyo.

2. Huge Fanbase

one direction There's no doubt that One Direction have a huge fanbase worldwide - you just need to look at the trends on Twitter every day and you're guaranteed to see something to do with One Direction trending. Directioners have been voted the "world's best fanbase" a number of times and the fans came first in a similar competition held by Capital FM.

3. Charity Work

They are avid supporters of a number of charities and this year, they have teamed up with Comic Relief to record a unique cover of Blondie's classic One Way or Another. The band have just returned from Ghana where they met some of the children Comic Relief helps. In a recent interview with The Mirror, Liam Payne said: "We just want people to buy the single and help raise as much money as possible." Louis Tomlinson, his bandmate, added: "By buying the song, together we'll change people's lives. What an amazing thing to do." This is not the first charity work the boys have done. In the past, they have made donations and visits to places like Bluebell Wood Hospice and Rays of Sunshine, both of which look after terminally ill children. One Direction were also nominated for an award for their charity work by Do Something, who aim to recognise young people in the entertainment industry who dedicate their time to charities.
