Prince: All Number 1 Songs Ranked Worst To Best

9. Thieves In The Temple

7th number one, 1990

One of Prince's most forgotten hits - likely helped by its underperformance on Billboard, where it peaked at #6, despite topping its rival chart.

Prince was often compared to Michael Jackson, which angered him greatly, but Thieves In The Temple does sound like an MJ castoff - even the video appears to channel the King of Pop himself, through Prince's attire and dance moves. Except Michael never twirled in high-heeled boots and assless pants. Probably.

Thieves In The Temple was included in the soundtrack for Prince's third motion picture, Graffiti Bridge, the sequel to Purple Rain. Said sequel was a critical and commercial flop and ended up being the last movie he ever helmed. The song in question is a decent, catchy number, but it pales in comparison to most of the Artist's other hits.

Fun Fact: Prince was nominated for a Razzie for his performance in Graffiti Bridge, but he lost to Andrew Dice Clay for The Adventures Of Ford Fairlane. Although 'lost' may not be the correct term here.
