Rammstein's 10 Biggest Controversies
6. Rammstein Get Graphic
2009’s Liebe ist für alle da may well have been the band at their most sexualised peak. Not only did the special edition of the album come with six dildos (apparently all “modelled” after each member of the group) but the lead single for the record titled rather unsubtly Pussy contained an English refrain of “you have a pussy, I have a d*ck, so what’s the problem, let’s do it quick”. Talk about straight-shooting.
After three years away, the band came back with a remarkable display of provocation and the music video for Pussy debuted exclusively on adult website Visit-X - and for very good reason. With Rammstein announcing “we’ve made a porno!”, the sextet performed a variety of classic pornstar roles such as “CEO”, “cowboy” and “sadist”. The entire thing set the internet aflame with speculation about its validity.
The short film spliced footage of the band with actual porn stars performing very real, very vivid sex acts. Some say it was cleverly worked to make it only look as though the band were making their own debuts in the adult industry, but from release to the present day the band have remained pretty tight-lipped about what is and isn’t them. Oh, you cheeky boys.
Outside of the platform the video was little more than a skin-coloured blur for most of its runtime. In the first week alone the uncensored video was viewed more than 6.5 million times. Sex really does sell.
