Ramones: 15 Best Songs (That Weren't From The Original Lineup)

3. Born To Die In Berlin

Album: Adios Amigos (1995)

Lineup: Joey, Johnny, Marky, C.J. (feat. Dee Dee)

One of the things that made the Ramones such a special group was the fact that they never stopped experimenting with different styles and sounds. Even while they were getting ready to hang up their leather jackets and ripped jeans once and for all, they still took the time to record songs in ways they never had before.

This is evidenced by the track Born to Die in Berlin, which was released on the band's farewell album Adios Amigos.

Written by Dee Dee Ramone, this song is as much an aggressive, enjoyable punk rock song as it is a reflection on the struggles of addiction. What's more is that Born to Die in Berlin's grainy sound greatly adds to the lyrical themes of frustration and disorientation.

Also, while the main 1995 lineup of Joey, Johnny, Marky, and C.J. absolutely kill it on this track, Dee Dee himself makes a guest appearance to sing the song's German verse (a section so catchy, you'll likely find yourself memorizing and singing along to it, whether or not you actually know how to speak German.)

All in all, this song is easily one of the strongest efforts on what would prove to be the iconic band's final studio release.
