Ranking All 9 Foo Fighters Studio Albums From Worst To Best
7. Concrete And Gold (2017)
The band's newest album, 'Concrete and Gold', shows the band's excitement at blending hard and soft sounds with ease and their ability to craft amazing melodies. This one is hindered by not having much of a history in comparison to the following albums on the list, but a great showing nonetheless.
Working with new producer Greg Kurstin - whose previous work was deeply rooted in pop - meant an element of experimentation was brought in, but in a way that seems to have worked as a positive for the group.
This newest release was composed initially by a solo Grohl, who was taking time off to recover from his infamous leg break (nobody can forget his Game of Thrones inspired throne of guitars), and later worked on with the band, a process that seems to evoke their best work.
Add to this a passionate lyrical motivation, Grohl's darker world view thanks to the 2016 Presidential election, and his worry for the future his children would be left with as a result, and the album comes together rather nicely with a connective theme of duality, or as the band have said, "hope and desperation".
