Ranking Every Bloc Party Album From Worst To Best

1. Silent Alarm (2005)

And history was made.

One of the most accomplished, celebrated and influential albums ever released for the alternative genre, even if you have never even heard the words 'Bloc Party' before, there's a guarantee you would have heard at least one track from this release.

Bursting with energy, Silent Alarm is a story of growing up and confronting the issues that come with it. Songs like Banquet deal with the emotional weight growing up brings, whilst Price of Gas and Helicopter explore the social resentment that comes from a disillusioned and frustrated generation.

However the deeper, emotional side of growing is also explored in songs like This Modern Love and So Here We Are, which offer more sincere and deeper explanation on growing up with those around you. They still contain enough beats to keep you from catching your breath at times, but deliver an slightly more hidden undertone that prove to be just as powerful as a striking guitar solo.

All in all, this is an album where four guys had nothing to lose, and they consequently play like it. Pumping with enthusiasm and excitement, it is the definition of an alternative rock band in their pump. A true masterpiece in every sense of the word, it will undoubtedly continue to be one of the British scene's most timeless exports.

Song to listen to: Banquet.

Song to avoid: Luno.
