Sonisphere 2014: 10 Really Obscure Metallica Songs You Need To Request

4. Devil's Dance

What Metallica performance would be incomplete without a mention of the devil? He shows up in a lot of Metallica material but it's his dance, featured on the 97' Reload album, which kicks the most serious ass. This track was even used in the bands 1999 orchestral endeavor with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. It's a fan favorite for sure although there is one thing against it, seeing as there are so many tracks from this particular album that have never been played live - "Better than You" (ironic as it was nominated for a Grammy for Best Metal Performance), "Slither", "Bad Seed", "Where the Wild Things Are", "Prince Charming", "Attitude", and "Fixxxer" The song has only been performed six times in the last 12 years - all of those performances took place in Europe within a few weeks in 2008 - so its about time this fan favorite made a welcome return. To be honest, you're almost assured that a song from ReLoad will be requested at some point in the countdown but it's just difficult to pinpoint exactly which track will make the list. Devil's Dance seems the popular favorite despite the fan club obsession with seeing "Fixxxer" performed live.
