"Apeman" is simple, effective and jubilantly glorious pop songwriting which apes mans place amid the cacophony of modern society and revolves around Ray Davies overwhelming urge to revert back to simpler times, wishing to "sail away to a distant shore and make like an apeman". In many ways, "Apeman" epitomises the nostalgia Ray Davies so often expressed in his songwriting, with his desire to leave the modern world and all its trappings behind in order to return to base elements. Both nostalgic and socially scathing, "Apeman" is infuriatingly catchy and remains a classic slice of The Kinks at their most delicious. One last thing, does Ray Davies sing the air pollution is fogging up my eyes or f*cking up my eyes? I can't decide! I'm kinda hoping it's the latter!

I love Heavy Metal, and generally anything that involves a guitar and loud noises, so I figured it was about time I put all the useless information in my head to good use and start writing a few things.
