11. Django Django €“ Django Django

djangodjangoDjango Django first came to attention in 2009 when a bubble of buzz formed around them, then burst. Instead of going for the quick and easy option of capitalizing on it, Django Django took their time to allow themselves and their music to grow. Grow it did too, into this year€™s debut self-titled album. Though it didn€™t arrive on an explosion like it might€™ve in 2009 it was met by wide critical acclaim, having brought with it an incredibly diverse and inspired sound. In its runtime the album manages to cast broad strokes with its pallet of Beach Boys harmonies, African music, Fusion, hypnotic synths, scuttling indie guitar, groove laden bass and experimental song structure. The end result is an infectious and complex accessibility conjuring up a modern psychedelia of sorts. Key tracks €“ Hail Bop, Default, Zumm Zumm, Hand of Man http://youtu.be/JQGTORbJgB4
