Top 10 Bob Dylan Songs (1962-1967)

9. Don€™t Think Twice, It€™s All Right - The Freewheelin€™ Bob Dylan (1963)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0N17KILNSS0 Although Dylan€™s early period is often associated with politically-soaked diatribes and poetic attempts to set world to the rights, this track from his sophomore album reveals that his niche always lay in the troubles and tribulations of the heart. In a lyric that pre-empted the studies of rocky relationships that punctuated much of €˜66€™s Blonde On Blonde, Don€™t Think Twice... is an engrossing and heartfelt tribute to a lost (or possibly unrequited) romance. With a wounded vocal delivery, poignant harmonica and gently plucked guitar, Dylan€™s fragility also manages to pluck away at the heartstrings, leading the empathetic listener through his labyrinthine despondency. If Blowin€™ in the Wind had the power to move the Western world to take evasive action against mindless bloodshed and prejudice, then equally, Don€™t Think Twice... had the power to reduce it to tears, and force it to wallow in the deepest depths of despair. Few artists possess the skill to inspire these types of emotions but it€™s a feat that Dylan is effortlessly capable of, don€™t think twice about that.
