1. Sympathy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaSdz4WKiu4 This is it, everything Tremonti does that sets him apart from absolutely everyone else. A pulse-pounding rhythm bedding everything out, an uplifting heartfelt tonality that used to be something only the messianic Myles Kennedy was capable of - and easily the best chorus on the album. Guys like Tremonti, Myles, Rise Against's Tim McIlrath and more just have that quality behind their vocals where you really believe everything they're singing about, they need you to believe it and go on this journey with them. There were numerous points in All I Was where that was more prevalent than others (The Things I've Seen's chorus being a particularly noteworthy moment), and again with Mark's delivery of "Abandon me again" it comes across with so much rapturous conviction, there's not been a better singularly delivered line this year.
