3. Fall Again
The other 'ballad' on the track in terms of its initial approach - Fall Again excels in leaps and bounds by cementing just how far Tremonti's vocal capabilities have come. We got tastes of how much more confident he was through on stage performances and other samples, but with the extended vocals present on the chorus here, you can really feel him getting acclimatised to owning his singing duties. In terms of the song itself it's very similar to Alter Bridge's song they did for the Elektra soundtrack, Save Me, although considering how underrated and undervalued that song is (thanks to a naff movie) that's by no means a bad thing. In fact it's quite the opposite, as the dynamic transition between some heartfelt vocals leads perfectly into a descending chorded riff, topped off perfectly by Tremonti flexing his vocal muscles again. Needless to say, the solo that comes after such an emotional buildup is one of the finest across the board, another highpoint where the strongest parts of Mark's emotional and powerhouse-style of riffage come together like no one else.
