Watch Cookie Monster "Call Me Maybe" Spoof

After the stellar success of the hit single, Cookie releases his own version - called Share It Maybe...

If there's one song that the internet went crazy for, spawning near thousands of parody and homage versions, it was Carly Rae Jepson's multi-national number one single "Call Me Maybe", which still shows little sign of ever disappearing thanks to an infectious hook and some easy to remember (though chillingly discomforting when you get down to it) lyrics. And now, because the internet is a wonderful place to spend your life, we've been gifted the greatest spoof version yet - which is some going considering the sheer number of the things currently out there on the web - and it comes courtesy of an unlikely figure. In the shape of Sesame Street favourite Cookie Monster, Carly Rae Jepson may just have met her match, with her slightly over-zealous lyrics ("crazy" is the most appropriate word) finding their natural mirror in Cookie's feverish desire for baked biscuity goods. I dare you not to fall in love with this bug-eyed blue monster all over again... http://youtu.be/-qTIGg3I5y8 This video is the latest in a long line of Sesame Street themed parody videos, some of which include cameos by the original recording artists themselves, most notably like James Blunt's wonderful "A Triangle" riffing off "You're Beautiful". Thanks to the success of The Muppets, Sesame Street is set to be the next puppet-based property to get the big screen treatment - and if fan-favourites Cookie Monster and Elmo are pushed front and centre, we may well be looking at another Muppets-sized hit. And that can only be a truly great thing.
