10 Most Insane Stories Stephen King Ever Dreamt Up

2. Chattery Teeth

What would happen if novelty teeth - you know, those over-sized chompers that wind up, and waddle around on little black feet - came to life and started eating people? That's a question no one has asked, ever. Except Stephen King. Because, well, Stephen King. That gag on Family Guy about him coming up with a story about a Lamp Monster? It's not far from the mark - except King would probably make it good. And six hundred pages. The twist in this short story, collected in Nightmares & Dreamscapes, is that the teeth protect their owner - and once he realizes this, he decides to give the teeth to his son so that he's always protected. Sweet, but insane. And once again, this led to an adaptation, as part of the movie Quicksilver Highway (which also featured an adaption of Clive Barker's The Body Politic). For obvious reasons, it was a made for TV movie.
