10 Things You Didn't Know About JK Rowling

1. She Rejected A Michael Jackson-Helmed Harry Potter Musical

Harry Potter won't make it to the stage until 2016 when the the first of a two-part play titled Harry Potter And The Cursed Child will début. But just because that'll be the series' stage début doesn't mean that people haven't been trying to adapt it for years.

One notable pitch was a musical, helmed by the king of pop himself, Michael Jackson. This Rowling outright rejected. Speaking to Oprah, she said:

"Michael Jackson wanted to do a musical. I said no to a lot of things. For me, I love the films, I love the books, and there's elements that I love around it€ like the theme park. But I only wanted to do it because I knew it would be incredible."

A Michael Jackson Harry Potter musical does sound pretty strange. It's probably for the best that we were made to wait until we got something Rowling herself endorsed.
