10 Things You Didn't Know About JK Rowling

10. Her Parents Met At King's Cross Station

Anyone who's even a tertiary Harry Potter fan knows the significance of King's Cross Station. In the books, it's the station that contains the magical Platform Nine And Three Quarters, the line on which the Hogwarts Express travels directly to Hogwarts school. Interestingly, the use of King's Cross Station was far from random. The station is actually where Rowling's parents James and Anne first met when they were just eighteen years old. The two fell in love so quickly that it was practically magic in real-life, marrying just one year later. James and Anne remained together until Anne sadly died of multiple sclerosis at age forty-five. In an interview with Film London, Rowling described King's Cross Station as a place that's always been part of her childhood folklore, and one of the most romantic places she knows.
