10 American Restaurant Chains That Need To Come To The UK
9. IHOP International House Of Pancakes
The International House of Pancakes, or IHOP as it is better known, is really well known within the United States. The main problem they would have upon opening in the UK is that they would need to get across the fact that they don't just do pancakes, while also trying to properly introduce the country to the American-style pancake. Sure they're available in a number of American style restaurants on the breakfast menu... but all day? IHOP could reasonably survive in limited numbers within major cities in the UK while it waits for the British public to get their collective heads around the menu. But trust us, it would be well worth it because the breakfasts are excellent, and throughout the rest of the day they do a wonderful American diner-style menu. That sort of menu is something that the UK is seriously lacking places such as TGI Friday's might do one or two things that would appear on a diner menu, but it simply isn't the same. Within London there is now a chain of restaurants gradually spreading out called The Diner and this is the sort of food we're referring to. An influx of an American diner-esque chain in the UK would not only give us some extra quality but influence other chains to produce something similar.
