10 Awesome Board Games You Need To Play
10. The Resistance
The first of our 'not technically board games but what the hell' entries, The Resistance is played more in the imaginations of its participants than any other game here.
Taking visual and thematic cues from the Battlestar Galactica reboot, the game is played by assigning one of two roles to its players: members of the resistance, and spies trying to bring said movement down from within. No-one can be sure exactly who's on what side, but as players select other team members to go on missions with them their suspicions will soon be raised as said missions succeed or are sabotaged accordingly.
Best played in large groups for maximum confusion and argument potential, The Resistance is tons of fun no matter what side you're on; intriguing for those on the side of good who are trying to root out the traitors in their midst, and devilishly entertaining for the spies who can revel in watching their nefarious machinations unfold.
