If you're not already sold on the name alone, there's an excitable child inside you that needs waking up. Sold on the box as "a thrilling game of adventure in a frightening pre-historic world", the game revolves around dice rolls and card plays as each player guides a team of plastic explorers through the titular terrain.

Not only are dinosaurs (including hordes of tyrannosaurs and a pterodactyl) an ever-present threat, but players also have to contend with an active volcano, a treacherous swamp and each other as they attempt to reach a hidden temple and retrieve its treasure without falling into any traps.

The game has to be praised for its sheer imagination and sense of excitement, and the detail with which the designers decorated Lost Valley, including lovingly illustrated cards and a board, not to mention the dinosaur figurines and a 3D volcano complete with molten lava pieces.
