1. vrAse
Somehow, someone has done it. Here is a device that is amazing, mind-blowingly futuristic, on the Christmas list of tech nerds everywhere, and is the last thing you would want to go out in public wearing, trumping both Google Glass and that sweater your grandmother knitted for you fifteen years ago. It looks like a great idea. In the same style as AR Calendar, it takes in video from your smartphones camera, processes it, and alters it, creating a virtual world that only you can see. It looks like the kind of thing you'd use whilst watching movies or youtube, and it quite helpfully can turn any video into 3D SBS footage, which is really cool. Like the SensorDome, this appears to be the hardware, rather than the full featured product: Other people can come up with uses, apps, and functionality for it, however the vrAse will make all of those ideas possible. The page suggests you can use it whilst working or skating, but, even with phone processors as fast and powerful as they are, I really doubt that any phone will process images quickly enough to make fast-paced travel possible. Also, no matter what cool functionality it has, it still looks ridiculous. I'll take 10.
