10 Best Bill Murray Stories (That Nobody Believes Actually Happened)
4. The One Where He Sang Karaoke
Do you remember the scene in Lost in Translation when Scarlett Johannson and Bill Murray crash a group's karaoke party in Japan? And Murray performs frankly amazing versions of Elvis Costello and Roxy Music songs? It's safe to say that it was one of the premier moments in film history. Well, it appears that Murray must have caught the karaoke bug, because a few years ago he gave a group in New York City a live reenactment of the famous scene when he did what he does best, crashed their party. Apparently, Murray was accompanied by a couple of Dutch girls and invited himself into their room, which of course they had no issues with whatsoever. Murray bought the group drinks and spent four hours laughing and singing, including dueting with one of the party goers on the Elvis Costello song 'Marie's the Name.' Thankfully, unlike his Lost in Translation co-star, Murray has decided to stick with the sing along booths instead of trying his hand at a music career (although I'm sure we'd all buy his records). It's just a shame Johannson didn't do the same.
