10 Best Science Based Joe Rogan Experience Guests

7. Bob Lazar - Episode 1315

If this episode came out even five years ago, it might have been resigned to that realm of Rogan podcasts that are fun but not to be taken too seriously.

Rogan has been outspoken about his previous obsession with the UFO phenomena. We've all been there, sometimes it's fun to suspend disbelief and get sucked into the murky world of conspiracy theories.

This episode with Bob Lazar was a return to some of those themes, but this time it didn't seem all that dubious... and damn was it fascinating. In 1989, Bob Lazar publicly claimed to have worked in an Area 51 affiliated facility, with his primary role being to reverse engineer some kind of advanced-tech craft. Lazar received a huge amount of backlash for his claims and refrained from talking about his story for many years.

Earlier this year the US government released a number of documents that confirmed they had been funding several secret government bodies whose primary objective was to investigate and document the occurrence of unidentified flying objects. And with the recent media interviews with Commander David Fravor, a former Navy pilot who witnessed and recorded an encounter with a UFO, Lazar's story no longer seems outside of the realms of possibility.

Lazar doesn't make the explicit claim that whatever he was working on was alien tech; what he stipulates is that it was technology far beyond the capability of what the US government is capable of, even today.
