10 Best Unfinished Stephen King Novels

2. I, Jason

Friday the 13th the Game
Gun Media

King recently tweeted that his favourite unwritten story was titled I, Jason. It is a first person narrative of Jason Vorhees, the unstoppable hockey-masked maniac of the Friday the 13th series. However, it would be nightmare scenario - the story would follow Jason being killed over and over again at Crystal Lake.

Anyone who has followed the Friday series knows that Jason is unkillable. Jason X attempts to address this is some form, having him experimented on by shady scientists to find out why he regenerates so quickly. As plot devices go, it is fairly thin. The fun of the series is that he, like Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger, is simply an eternal beast who can't be stopped.

With so many sequels already released, it is quite hard to produce anything that is truly new with the character. However, many films and stories in the past have switched the viewpoint to that of the killer. While Jason is supposed to be the silent, stalking hulk, there could be a bit of an interesting trip in having him try to understand why he is locked in this cycle.

From Jason's point of view, perhaps he truly wants to die, only to be continually resurrected, cursed to kill again and again. As Jason has never spoken, we have yet to know his opinion on the matter - but who better than King to write the mind of this killer. It could be the ultimate in horror team ups!
