3. Stuart Redman €“ The Stand

Gary Sinise The Stand When the Captain Trips virus was accidentally released and inadvertently spread to the world by Charles Campion, it wiped out 99.4% of the population. For those who survived, the world was a vastly changed place. Eventually, the remaining survivors essentially split into 2 very different camps. The benevolent Mother Abigail drew the righteous and good to her in Boulder, Colorado while the malevolent Randall Flagg attracted the flawed and downright evil to him in Las Vegas. The stage was set for the ultimate showdown between good and evil, with the fate of the Earth lying in its balance. Stuart Redman was a simple man from Arnette, Texas, who found himself drawn into the middle of the battle. He rose to a position of authority within the Boulder group and helped take charge in an extremely dire situation. While he didn€™t do it alone, after Mother Abigail€™s death, Redman became the face of the fight against Flagg. His calm demeanour, his refusal to back down and his moral convictions helped others find the will to do what must be done in the face of the greatest threat to humanity. Stu became the leader he never expected himself to be and rose up time and again in the face of extreme adversity.
