If you're going to commit burglary, it makes sense to disguise yourself. What makes less sense, is to draw a mask on to your skin with permanent marker. Funnily enough, that's exactly what would-be burglars Joey Miller and Matthew McNelly attempted in 2009. The silly duo were spotted trying to break into a flat in Carroll, Iowa, with a witness identifying them in a call to police as "two men with painted faces". They didn't manage to actually get into the flat itself, but police stopped their car at gunpoint based on the very specific description. Both men were charged with attempted second-degree burglary, while McNelly was charged with drunk driving. Usually the idea is to lose the disguise after fleeing the scene of the crime, but it looks like these lads didn't quite grasp the idea.
