10 Most Brutal Prisons In The World

9. Kamiti Maximum Security Prison

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rghcbOLLJY4 Location: Nairobi, Kenya A combination of poor conditions and inhumane treatment make the Kamiti Maximum Security Prison one of the most brutal in the world. The prison is built to hold 1400 prisoners but currently houses over 3600 in unbelievable squalor. There is no reliable water supply so prisoners have to haul buckets of it daily in incredible heat. All these conditions make outbreaks of cholera and other diseases a normal occurrence which have cost the lives of dozens of prisoners. The inhumane treatment of its inmates is evident within the walls of 'G' block, an infamous section of the prison that houses the condemned. It is famed for its brutal lifestyle of prisoner-on-prisoner violence where predatory rape and sodomy is used as a weapon. In 2008 the Kenyan National Commission on Human Rights released videos obtained from mobile phone cameras that also showed their custodians brutally beating the inmates with casual indifference which all add to its reputation as one of the worst prisons in the world.
