10 "Bucket List" Tourist Attractions That Are Totally Overrated

10. Disneyworld - Orlando, United States

No place that's actually a really fun experience needs to advertise themselves as "The Happiest Place on Earth", right? That just comes off as desperate. Please come, please come, we promise you'll have fun. And look, your kids probably will. Until they get hot and tired and overstimulated and hopped up on sugar and terrified of the man in the Goofy costume and have an epic meltdown that you will have nightmares about for years to come. Oh, and someone's going to get sick. That's just the way things work. Yes, Disneyworld is a magical experience for small children (although to be fair, so is Chuckie Cheese's), but for everyone else, it's a reminder of everything that's wrong with humanity. If you really feel the need to go to Florida (yuck) and spend thousands of dollars at a theme park (also yuck), go to Universal Studios Islands of Adventure instead. It's pretty much just as crowded and expensive, but it's less cloyingly sweet and there's more fun for the post-kindergarten set. Do we even need to mention the Harry Potter theme park? It's amazing. Go there. Go there now.
