9. Eiffel Tower - Paris, France

Yes, everyone needs to see the Eiffel Tower when they go to Paris. But seeing the Eiffel Tower is not necessarily the same thing as setting time aside to actually go there. Because after all, as soon as you set foot in Paris, you've seen the Eiffel Tower. All you gain from going there is being crowded in with a bunch of other tourists, spending money to go to the top to take a picture of a famous city without its most famous landmark. Why would you even want a picture of Paris without the Eiffel Tower in it? And the lines, oh God, the lines. It's just not worth it. Paris is a gorgeous city which rewards the visitors that explore every single one of its nooks and crannies, so why would you waste your time on this tourist trap when there are so many more interesting experiences you could be having? When you look back on the short time you spent in Paris, there are things you will regret not seeing, but we promise, waiting in a long line to climb the Eiffel Tower will not be one of them.
