10 Compelling Arguments That Lord Voldemort Was Based On Adolf Hitler

6. The Use Of Propaganda

Both Lord Voldemort and Adolf Hitler recognised the importance of propaganda in their respective missions of world dominance, using the media to manipulate the general public. Their scare mongering was a tactic that allowed them to sow seeds of doubt and hatred in people, forcing false truths down their throats to get them on side. After Voldemort managed to gain control over the Ministry of Magic he ordered the production and distribution of pamphlets entitled €˜Mudbloods and the Dangers They Pose to a Perfect Pure-Blood Society€™. This pamphlet painted those without magic blood as half-wits and thieves who were out to steal the secrets of magic from those worthy of it. The material circulated by Hitler€™s Ministry of Propaganda (the name of which is responsible for the word having such negative connotations today) was eerily similar to the aforementioned pamphlet. While Romani people and homosexuals were also heavily targeted, the aim of this propaganda more often than not was to smear the Jews. Der Sturmer, a German newspaper under Nazi control, went as far as warning the German public to keep a close eye on their kids as Jews were known to kidnap small children just before Passover because they needed the blood of Christian children to mix with their Matzah. Talk about a danger to a perfect pure-blood society!
