10 Completely Stupid Things That Everyone Does (Even If You Deny It)

1. Sitting On A Train And Thinking It€™s Moving... Even When You Know It Isn€™t...

Both Ways Train Gif This one is a doozy and demonstrates that, regardless of your book smarts, life experiences and general knowledge; as a species humans are definitely still a bunch of idiots... Basically, it goes something like this; you€™re sitting on the train, waiting to go somewhere. You€™ve got your bag in the overhead compartment and your phone in your pocket. You check the time and you see that the train won€™t be leaving yet for another couple of minutes. Wistfully, you gaze out of the window - when suddenly the train begins to move. Despite the fact that you can€™t feel the train moving beneath your feet and you know you€™re not supposed to be leaving now, you still tell yourself that the train must be moving. You can see it moving out the window, so it must be going somewhere, right? WRONG! ...Of course, experienced train riders know that the effect is an optical illusion caused by the movement of the train next to them, but they still feel, just for a second, that their train is moving. No matter how many times you take the train, this effect will confuse and disorientate you, every single time. Frankly, it€™s a miracle humankind ever got this far as a species. Good luck out there, everyone, by the looks of it, you're going to need it.

I am a professional author and lifelong comic books/pro wrestling fan. I also work as a journalist as well as writing comic books (I also draw), screenplays, stage plays, songs and prose fiction. I don't generally read or reply to comments here on What Culture (too many trolls!), but if you follow my Twitter (@heyquicksilver), I'll talk to you all day long! If you are interested in reading more of my stuff, you can find it on http://quicksilverstories.weebly.com/ (my personal site, which has other wrestling/comics/pop culture stuff on it). I also write for FLiCK http://www.flickonline.co.uk/flicktion, which is the best place to read my fiction work. Oh yeah - I'm about to become a Dad for the first time, so if my stuff seems more sentimental than usual - blame it on that! Finally, I sincerely appreciate every single read I get. So if you're reading this, thank you, you've made me feel like Shakespeare for a day! (see what I mean?) Latcho Drom, - CQ
