Despite claiming to know "better than anybody" on a variety of topics, Donald Trump doesn't understand wind.

"I never understood wind," he said to a rally in December 2019 in West Palm Beach, Florida. That was just the beginning of one of his stranger rants.

Wind turbine syndrome is indeed a theory pushed by theorists, though it's pseudoscience (and that's generous).

But before we all started to panic that wind might cause tumours, there was a perfectly workable weather conspiracy in place. In remote Alaska, there's a large farm of radio antennae known as HAARP, or High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program, or there was until 2014. It was set up in 1993 to research the ionosphere.

If you ask people worried about HAARP, it was responsible for everything from the tragic Challenger explosion to mind-control to, yes, weaponizing the weather.

Former Governor (and wrestler, and man who ain't got time to bleed) Jesse Ventura was a proponent, and stormed the site with his staff when an official request to visit was denied. Additionally, two men were charged with plotting terrorism when they tried to shut down HAARP with an arsenal.

They confessed immediately, expecting a hero's reprieve, because God had told them to bring it down because the machine was harvesting souls.

So take comfort: Even if you think wind turbines cause cancer, you still haven't taken the soul-harvest route yet.

Kenny Hedges is carbon-based. So I suppose a simple top 5 in no order will do: Halloween, Crimes and Misdemeanors, L.A. Confidential, Billy Liar, Blow Out He has his own website - thefilmreal.com - and is always looking for new writers with differing views to broaden the discussion.
