10 Mindblowing Things That Happen As You Age

8. You Sweat Less

The older you get, the less you sweat - and this is both good news and bad news.

The good news is that you can save a load of money on deodorant as you leave your sweaty youth behind you, the bad news is that it will cause your skin to dry up.

As we age, the glands that produce sweat and oil all over our bodies tend to dry up. This is due to changes in the eccrine glands that are usually responsible for the various lubrications that our body slathers over itself in our youth (remember your spotty, sweaty teenage years? Well, you can wave goodbye to those).

Unfortunately, this can contribute to skin dryness, reduction in elasticity and the appearance of wrinkles, even if you do all the right things by not smoking and staying out of the sun. It can also mean that you're less able to regulate you body temperature and your skin becomes less touch sensitive, leaving you more open to accidental damage.

Gosh, ageing sounds fun, doesn't it?
