10 Mindblowing Things That Happen As You Age
7. You Have Better Sex
Geriatric sexytime has rapidly lost its taboo status over the last decade or so, with increasing numbers of older people remaining loud and proud about the amount of high-quality action they are getting.
Due to biological changes, sex certainly changes as you get older, but the quality of the sex and sexual satisfaction has been found to increase in many older people.
This is probably down to mental changes rather than physical ones. Sex, like a lot if things, is a case of life-long practice. By the time you've been at it for 40 years or so, you're going to have a pretty good idea of what you like. Studies have also found that widowed men and women are more likely to seek out a sexual relationship much more akin to what we're used to seeing in young "loved up" couples, rather than try to recreate a long-term dynamic.
Age comes with a certain bedrock of confidence, as well as a healthy perspective on the important things in life. A healthy sex life in old age is also much more likely to include intimacy, kissing and cuddling - all things associated with the building of strong, loving bonds with other people and leading to increased overall happiness.
Apart from anything else, an active sex life in your older years can help contribute to that moderate exercise that we discussed in the previous entry, allowing you to stay fitter, healthier and happier for longer.
