"You expected Charles Manson at the very least, didn't ya?" Quite possibly the most well known (and well used) character in Kings multi-verse, Randall Flagg has gone by many different names in many different settings, but usually with the initials R.F. Flagg has never been described as looking threatening, but rather as an average looking middle aged man. He appears to fall in line with a character like The Wandering Jew in that he has existed for a seemingly endless amount of time. It is suggested in The Stand that he cannot remember his life prior to each era of his history and at some point along the way he just became. He has vague memories of being a Marine, a Klansman and involved in the kidnapping of Patty Hearst. In essence it seems that Randall Flagg is quite possibly the embodiment of evil itself. Wherever he goes, sickness, evilness and death are sure to follow. Flagg is very much an anti-Christ like figure and is best described by Tom Cullen, He looks like anybody you see on the street. But when he grins, birds fall dead off telephone lines. When he looks at you a certain way, your prostate goes bad and your urine burns. The grass yellows up and dies where he spits. Hes always outside. He came out of time. He doesnt know himself. He has the name of a thousand demons. Jesus knocked him into a herd of pigs once. His name is Legion. Hes afraid of us. Were inside. He knows magic. He can call the wolves and live in the crows. Hes the king of nowhere. But hes afraid of us. Hes afraid of inside.
A self professed Stephen King/Star Wars geek and pop culture neophyte, Scott tends to spend much of his time alone pondering life's greatest mysteries.....he also depends heavily on his son Liam, a great sounding board, to set him straight on Star Wars issues and gives him advice on what EXACTLY he's doing wrong.
