10 Creepy Disneyland Tales

8. Human Remains In The Rides

Disney and their various parks play a large part in pop culture, and the company is often synonymous with childhood. Because of this, the parks have become strangely popular locations for people requesting to have their ashes scattered. In particular, the Haunted Mansion in Florida's The Magic Kingdom has been covered with the remains of the deceased on multiple occasions. One former employee, David Koenig, recalled that a tourist group asked if they could have a few minutes longer on the ride in order to hold a memorial for a young boy. Permission was given, but employees quickly realised that the mourners were sprinkling powder over the side of their carts. The Haunted Mansion was shut down in order to clean it up. Leaving your loved ones' remains in the park's rides probably isn't a great idea, regardless of their wishes. As one park employee pleaded in a post on Reddit, "Please PLEASE leave your cremated loved ones at home. Stop dumping them in Haunted Mansion. They just get vacuumed up and disposed of."
