Here's another spooky story from The Magic Kingdom's infamous Haunted Mansion. Around 70 years ago in the 1940's, a small plane crashed into a lake right next to where the Haunted Mansion was later built. The Man with the Cane is said to be the ghost of the pilot who now haunts the ride. The Man with the Cane has been spotted by guests and employees alike, as an old man that sits in the ride's 'Doom Buggies'. Allegedly, the spirit will vacantly stare forwards, clutching a cane with both hands rested in front of him. In one incident, a park employee saw The Man with the Cane sat in a Doom Buggy one night. Unaware of the legend, she said hello to the spirit, but no response was given. After the Buggy turned the corner and disappeared into the darkness, she asked the unload operator who the passenger was. The operator claimed to not have sent anyone into the ride. The two waited for the Buggy to complete its circuit, but by the time it arrived at the station, it was completely empty.
