10 Creepy Stories About Real Life Executioners
3. Henry-Clément Sanson
Henry-Clément Sanson was the seventh generation in his family to be a French executioner. He was a troubled guy. He became a heavy drinker because of the burden of his job, and began indulging himself in an extravagant lifestyle. This lifestyle left him broke, and he came up with a creepy way to make extra cash.
Using his family guillotine, he opened a musée des horreurs in his own home. This was a place where he showed off the guillotine he used to execute people, but to bring in the crowds he did something pretty twisted. He would have people pay him to decapitate a live sheep in his house for money. For a guy seemingly troubled by his job, it seems he also embraced the sadistic side of it. His money problems eventually got worse, and he lost his job because he had sold his guillotine, replacing it with an old axe for executions.
