10 Deadly Roller Coasters That Killed People

8. Black Witch

BlackwitchPark: Magic Harbor (South Carolina, United States) Ride Opened: 1974 (?) Deaths: 1 The Magic Harbor theme park was once a thriving amusement destination, and underwent a number of changes and rebrands in its history. Starting out as a Wild West park, the park was later given a British theme, leading to a number of new rides being constructed. This included the Black Witch steel roller coaster. Unfortunately, the once booming Magic Harbor has since been remembered primarily for a tragedy that took place in 1983. After standing up on the Black Witch, a 13-year old girl was almost decapitated, dying from the injuries. By this time, Harbor Park's visitor numbers had begun to wane, and the Black Witch tragedy resulted in even less people coming to the park. The entire park was shut down shortly afterwards. Over time, due to the abandoned rides and scenery, the defunct park has become known as Haunted Harbor, and is a popular destination for daring urban explorers and photographers.
