10 Deadly Roller Coasters That Killed People

7. Timber Wolf

TimberwolfPark: Worlds of Fun (Missouri, United States) Ride Opened: 1989 Deaths: 1 Worlds of Fun's Timber Wolf has been a highly popular wooden roller coaster, since its opening in 1989. However, the ride's history has been marked by a couple of tragic incidents. The first took place in 1990. After a control system malfunctioned, the system became unable to control two of the Timber Wolf's trains at once. Because of this, two trains accidentally collided near the ride's loading platform. There were no fatalities, but 35 people were injured from the mishap. Five years later saw a far more deadly occurrence. In 1995, a girl died after falling from her seat while riding the Timber Wolf. The explanation given was that she had removed her constraints while the ride was running, in an attempt to change seats. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQdSOKpmXAI Despite the incident not being the result of a malfunction, the park's owners paid out $200,000 to the girl's family. The Timber Wolf is still in operation, and was recently renovated in 2010.
