7. A Dutch Footballer Does A Poo On The Street

The hero of this tale was either caught bang to rights or falsely punished, depending on your point of view: footballer Jeffrey de Visscher was reportedly let go by his club, FC Emmen in the Netherlands, after getting into an incident with police. According to local papers, he was arrested for stopping his car and squeezing out a doozy by the side of the road. This led them to suspect that maybe he didn't have his best thinking cap on, and they were right - de Visscher turned out to be under the influence. He was arrested for drunk driving and defecating in a public street. Funnily enough, that's apparently a common enough offence in Holland that they have a word for it: 'wildpoepen'. De Visscher claims that he left the club "by mutual consent", but few believe him, and the 'wildpoepen' nickname has followed him around ever since. Proof if it were needed that the stuff does indeed stick.
