The Exercise: Slightly more advanced than crunches, Russian Twists are a great way to work the abdominals while promoting core stability. It will take a couple of goes to work out the right amount of movement; don't go so far that it becomes uncomfortable, and try to avoid any jarring movements

Start sat on the floor, with your knees bent and your feet on the ground. Lift you feet about an inch from the ground. Lean back slightly, so that your body creates a "V" shape. Extend your arms with your hands clasped until they're parallel to the floor. Twist your torso to the right. Hold the contraction for two seconds before returning to the starting position while breathing out. Now repeat the movement, but this time twist your body in the opposite direction.

Make It Harder: As with the abdominal exercises, you can increase the amount of work by holding a small weight or a ball between your hands. You can then gradually increase the weight to make the exercise more of a challenge.

In A Workout: Russian Twists are a great exercise to ass to any workout. Just make sure you're keeping things even on each side.
