7. You Can Keep Posts Private On Tumblr
It's a wonder that Twitter and Facebook don't actually enable this feature; you don't have to share everything on Tumblr, though. And whilst you might be wondering "Why would you even want to keep a post private? Isn't it there to be viewed?" the answer is not necessarily. What if you're working on a post that's not ready yet? What if it's there for you to see and no one else? What if it's a picture that you've uploaded to Tumblr for ease of sharing on Facebook, but you don't want your followers to see? Again, it just makes Tumblr feel more personal. And you can even anonymously message people on Tumblr. Admittedly, not everyone uses that feature for good, but it's certainly a nice idea in theory.
