10 Greatest Comedy Duos Of All Time

3. Lucy & Ethel

Laurel And Hardy
wiki

This comedic duo from the '50s was an act from I Love Lucy starring Vivian Vance as Ethel Mertz and Lucille Ball as Lucy Ricardo. Between 1951 and 1957, I Love Lucy was the most-watched television show in the United States for four of its six seasons and was even recognized as the "Best TV Show of All Time" by People Magazine in 2012.

When the two were paired on the show, Lucy was reticent to accept the younger, prettier actress. She wanted to be the star of the show without having the viewers' attention drawn towards her co-star. It didn't take long for Vance to prove herself worthy of standing beside Ball as they developed their pairing into one of the greatest comedy duos of all time.

As their act developed, the two women became close friends off the screen, which only helped to push their comedic talents alongside one another.

They acted in numerous sketches, many of which were absolutely hilarious, but the best and most well-known of them all is the chocolate scene. Odds are, you have seen it somewhere before, but even if that's the case, do yourself a favor and watch it again:
