Star Tours was and still is one of the most advanced experiences within the Disneyland California resort, building on the hugely successful Star Wars franchise in conjunction with Lucasfilm. This partnership was in place prior to the groundbreaking rights deal in 2012.

The ride offers an interchangeable experience with 13 different digital segments totalling over 100 possible ride simulations. One of the best parts of this ride is the queuing system littered with replica props and memorabilia to pass the often long wait times.

When approaching the coaching area, C-3P0 and R2-D2 are the focal point of the exhibit. Everyone’s favourite druids are the real movie props and not replicas made by the Disney Imagineers. These little bundles of metal were a gift from Lucasfilm to strengthen their partnership and helped add a little bit more pizazz to the queue.

The authentic props were taken in by the Disney Imagineers and retrofitted with animatronics to create the memorable exhibit where the duo currently reside.
