Pirates Of The Caribbean ride is probably one of the most out-dated rides within the Disney parks today but still manages to be a true fan favourite due to the huge success of the film franchise.

Back in the design phase of the ride, the Imagineers could not fabricate realistic looking bones, lacking the authentic look Disney strived for. If you haven’t work out where this is going yet, the Imagineers went to the local medical centre, and obtained a while host of real life skeletons and assorted bones!

Obviously, over time and a change in culture, Disney were forced to remove and replace all of the genuine bones. With an advancement in technology a keen effort to replace the real bones with machined prosthetics, the gargantuan task was undertaken.

However, legend has it that not all the bones were replaced.
