This site of pilgrimage can be found in the municipality of Escorca in north-west Mallorca. The monastery itself is built on a site of sanctuary where a Moorish shepherd found a statue of the Virgin Mary in the 13th century. Santuari de Lluc is often used as a starting point for walks and is surrounded by a number of high mountains. However, if you do not want to go walking too far then taking a wander inside the main building will be a rewarding experience as it is covered in ornate and decadent decoration.
