This is a scam that has been running for almost as long as social media has been popular. This scam has been mostly targeted at Facebook users in the last few years, but sites such as MySpace and Twitter are also occasionally used. The scam usually involves the recipient being asked to take a survey, in return for finding out exactly who has been visiting their Facebook profile. For those gullible enough to take it, all they'll get is their details passed on to other scammers, the email spammed to their friends, and probably their Facebook password phished. Example:
