10 Horrifying Animal Facts You Really Don't Want To Know
7. Crows Will Never Forget Your Face
Never mess with a crow; the fact their collective term is a "murder" speaks for itself. These death-associated birds are so super intelligent that we should really be worrying: they can remember faces by using the same brain processes as humans, and, in turn, process them with the relevant emotions. Scientists found this out by capturing 12 adult male crows while wearing a mask. They fed them for four weeks in captivity (wearing a different mask) and then showed them the original masks of their captors on release. When shown the threatening faces, the crow's brain activity changed and it fixed a dead gaze onto the face. Watch what you're doing next time you encounter one of these corvids, they can hold one hell of a grudge if you brush them up the wrong way.
