10 Joe Rogan Experience Guests That Didn't Live Up To Expectations

4. Les Stroud #632

The oldest episode on this list, Rogan's interview with musician and survival expert Les Stroud quickly comes off the rails and even becomes hard to listen to at times.

Longtime fans of the podcast can attest to how Rogan's predilection for conspiracy theories has decreased over the years, with the comedian being ever-more sceptical of elaborate alternative viewpoints.

With that being said, having a guest who is a known advocate of the existence of bigfoot mixed with Rogan having had several drinks proves to be a recipe for disaster. Joe appears entirely dismissive of many of Stroud's admittedly often pretty wacky theories, leading to the episode clearly not living up the expectations of many.

This particular podcast also suffers from occurring during the era when comedian Brian Redban was fulfilling the role now held by Young Jamie. Redban can be hilarious at times but his questions can often detract from the seriousness of the point the guest is trying to get across. This is exemplified in this episode when he asks Stroud if he had ever had sex with the animals that he eats while in the wilderness.

As is often the case when someone has a platform as big as Joe, he can be criticised of being too skeptical of guests as he is here, then in another instance criticised for going to easy on guests like in the next entry...
